I want to tell you how good it is to be here, good to be on planet Earth, good to be on the North American continent, in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, in Northern Orange County to be precise, here alongside Old NC10 where the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Hillsborough gathers and where, I understand, you seek to build a liberal religious community that accepts all people and supports each individual’s search for meaning, a community that covenants “to serve others and to work together for peace, justice, and understanding in our community and the world.”
