THE PRACTICE OF

SOULFUL LEADERSHIP

Our culture teaches us that successful leadership is about management, which means "making things happen." If there is a problem, leadership solves it. If there is an opportunity, leadership grabs it. If there is competition, leadership wins.

Yet many leaders hunger for something more. Contrary to popular opinion, our deepest yearning is not to be successful but soulful.

"The Practice of Soulful Leadership," offered by Daniel Pryfogle in a retreat or one-day workshop format, invites participants to discover a different way of leading. Soulful leaders emphasize exploration over production. They are scouts who notice the good work already underway. They celebrate possibility and marvel at serendipity. And they pay attention to passion. Why? Because passion is the root of vocation -- "the place," Frederick Buechner says, "where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet."

Through creative and contemplative activities, participants explore their own vocations and learn practices that cultivate soulful leadership.

Daniel Pryfogle teaches "The Practice of Soulful Leadership" periodically through the Duke University Certificate Program in Nonprofit Management. Check back here for the next class. To schedule a retreat or workshop for your congregation or organization, call Daniel at 919-460-7069.
