Cathy is a multimedia journalist with a passion for storytelling in the nonprofit sector. A native of Greensboro, N.C., she earned a B.A. in journalism and mass communication with a news-editorial concentration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Cathy worked as a writer and marketing professional for United Way before earning a master’s degree in interactive media from Elon University. As part of her graduate research, she wrote a book titled “Marketing Your Business in an Interactive Age: The Manual for Every Growing Small Business and Nonprofit.” Following graduation, Cathy founded an organization devoted to social documentary and nonprofit marketing.

In January 2010, I traveled to London to create interactive marketing materials for an elementary school where the children come from 42 different countries and 35 different languages can be heard on the playground.

Before I left, the headmaster gave me this cookbook created by the children, with their favorite recipes from all over the world. It's such a unique keepsake from my trip and one of my favorite souvenirs.
