Ned is a veteran newspaper reporter, columnist and editor.
During 17 years at The News & Observer of Raleigh, N.C., he directed the newsroom as the metro editor and later covered sports as a columnist including coverage of NCAA Final Fours, the NHL Stanley Cups Finals and the Olympic Games in Sydney and Athens. His work won honors from the North Carolina Press Association, the Associated Press Sports Editors and the National Hockey Writers Association. Ned also has worked in editing and reporting roles at the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Dallas Times Herald, the St. Petersburg Times and The Press of Atlantic City.
A resident of Raleigh, Ned is a native of Philadelphia and a graduate of Fairfield University.
